Sale Picks - Highstreet and Designer

Sales - where do you start?? There are so many websites to cover and so little time. I'm constantly checking up on the usuals like Topshop, ZARA and ASOS and designer hubs like FarFetch, Matches and Avenue 32 for some serious bargains so I took the liberty of searching out a few of the best bargains I could find for you! NOTE : They are selling out fast so if you like 'em, don't wait around!

DESIGNER : I find Selfridges and Avenue32 winter sales are better than everywhere else but you must act fast!! Harvey Nics isn't bad either, especially if you go in store for your sale shopping. (I just got myself an amazing pair of Charlotte Olympia boots which I would have put below but they are completely gone!!) Below, all the pieces are in the sale at under £200 and some are stupidly good deals you actually won't believe it. I just spent about 2 hours hunting all these down and picking the ones with plenty sizes left (although that Charlotte Simone scarf is low in stock!). I hope you find something you like!

Never say you'll 'wait a few days' to buy a sale item because, from personal experience, it will only end in disappointment.

NYE -

The American Apparel Julliard top : a favourite for a reason.. Just keep an eye on your boobs. 

A very faint glimpse at a super cheap body chain from ASOS that can make any outfit that little bit cooler.

I use MAC's 'Soft and Gentle' highlighter and I must admit it looks pretty damn good in this pic.

2016 will be the year of the flare for me. Wanna know a fun fact? I have worn a pair of flares every day in 2016 (.....so far ;) ). I brought in the New Year with a pair of pink sequin beauties courtesy of French Connection and spent the 1st in my favourite super flared ZARA Studio pair. I'm still in Shetland so New Years Eve was spent partying in a place called Nesting with the majority of my boyfriend's family and their friends and New Years Day involved a big meal with the family in Lerwick, the main town.

NYE, like Christmas, is usually laden with sequins and glitter lurex and layers of false eyelashes and so I felt no shame in going completely OTT in a 70’s pink pimp ensemble. Why not wear your huge pink fur coat with your pink sequin flares?? Also, they received heaps of compliments and are now half price in the sale (you're welcome). I hope you all enjoyed your New Years Eve, whether it was a quiet one or a messy one. 

NY -

Double buckle belts are great but super hard to find. I just pre-ordered B-Low the Belt's 'Bri Bri' model which is double buckle but not at all cheap. It will be worth it however as I wear this one all the time.

Yes I know this is a shockingly bad picture but it shows the neat fabric off well. Pretty much the same stuff your school trousers were made out of.

I took all but one of the above photos myself so I apologise for the quality. Does anyone else ever decide in the New Year that they’re going to be well dressed(/poised/mannered) every day of the year? I do. And it never happens. I’m even sitting in a pair of salt n pepper jersey flares and a stupidly large t-shirt looking like I desperately need a shower. Oh well..

Holiday Wear

I went to the Lake District for a week and here's what I wore (if you care)...

One of the first outfits I thought to log was the above. Before I packed, I planned most of the outfits I would wear so I didn't pack pointless items that I would never put to use, but this one I ended up throwing together and fancying enough to take a pic. I'm wearing a pair of snake print booties Hudson Shoes sent me which I absolutely adore.

Dress - Alexa Chung for AG Jeans (new version here)

I won this dress in a MyTheresa.com Pinterest competition when the first Alexa for AG Jeans collection came out and I barely wear it. It fits like a dream apart from the bust area where one button looks just a little like it's clinging on for dear life. I wore it anyway...

Sunny days in Britain aren't easy cause we usually know all to well that the minute a cloud covers the sun, we'll be reaching for our scarves and a pair of socks regardless of whether we are wearing sandals or not. Jeans felt appropriate but for when the sun was at it's brightest, I played it safe in a ribbed crop top, with flashes of Calvin for a slice of cool.. lol. I liked the way the waistband sat neatly  (with a lot of constant adjusting) above the fray top, button-less and belt loop-less All Saints jeans (I got these in the sale so unfortunately they are no longer available :( )..

   I work for artisan high street brand East and here I am in their stunning silk backless Virginia hankerchief dress. I've been dying for an opportunity to wear this anywhere other than work and my boyfriend's grandparents 50th wedding anniversary seemed like the perfect one. Mixing prints by teaming it with my favourite ZARA booties, I wanted it to look a little more quirky than it might have with sandals or basic heels. Also the cropped mohair cardigan provided the perfect amount of warmth for when the wind picked up.
